The urgency of global collaboration in health
The COVID-19 pandemic represented one of the most significant global health threats in modern history, exposing the weakness in international cooperation and global health security. Fragmented and uneven responses across different countries and regions signalled the failure of global solidarity, coordination and collective action.

In this lecture, Dr. Goodwin explains that the pandemic and the global response to it reiterated a fundamental truth, that pathogens do not respect borders, and no nation cannot effectively safeguard its own population against global threats in isolation. Her lecture will underscore that international cooperation, effective information sharing, partnership building and accountability are key to building a stronger and healthier global community, and addressing health inequities.
