On March 13th, Assistant Professor Chang Pin-Hsuan of our institute invited Superintendent Yang Chun-Jen of Hsinchu Mackay Children's Hospital to share his passion and vision for pediatric medical care in the Medical Institution Management and Law Specialty course.

Pediatric medical care is very different from adult medical care. To make children feel at ease during the medical treatment process, Hsinchu Mackay Children's Hospital has made many efforts in "child-friendly medical care." The hospital not only plans its hardware facilities but, more importantly, focuses on children in its software services.

Superintendent Yang shared that the hospital collaborated with the Child Welfare League Foundation to create "Whimsical Island of Four Seasons," hoping to reduce children's fear of hospitals through a childlike space design. In addition, the hospital regularly holds various activities, such as back-to-hospital events for premature babies and ward activities, allowing children to receive treatment in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. In addition to providing a friendly medical environment, Hsinchu Mackay Children's Hospital continues to improve its medical technology and services. The hospital provides early intervention, 24-hour pediatric emergency services, and actively promotes home care for premature infants. The hospital has pediatric psychologists, music therapists, social workers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive care and support for children.

However, in an environment of both aging and declining birthrates, hospital management also faces different challenges. What remains unchanged is the adherence to core values: giving love, giving hope, providing holistic care, and providing complete healing. Under the efforts of Superintendent Yang and all medical staff, Hsinchu Mackay Children's Hospital has become a place full of love and professionalism, gently guarding the health of every child and warming the hearts of every family.
