Chih-Ming Liang is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Graduate Institute of Health and Biotechnology Law of the Taipei Medical University. Liang received his S.J.D (Doctor of Juridical Science) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 2013. Liang served as a post-doctoral researcher at the Research Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan from 2014-2015, before assuming the role as an Assistant Professor at the Taipei Medical University.
Liang’s main research areas involve health law and regulation, administrative law in risk society, and medical malpractice and patient safety. In each of these fields, Liang applies social scientific theories and methods to explore how the law evolves at its boundaries to meet the challenges of the modern risk society. Liang also has a special interest in cross-professional communication/collaboration and deliberative democracy. He is currently collaborating with scholars from legal, communication, and data science fields to examine data visualization and risk communication by governments during the Covid-19 pandemic.
