Our collaborative work, “Supporting Transition to Adulthood in Persons with Intellectual Disabilities,” at the World Congress on Adult Capacity (WCAC). This project examines decision-making, autonomy, quality of life, and supported environments for persons with intellectual disabilities during the transition to adulthood.
For medical university, this topic is closely connected to healthy long-term care, family support, and community-based services. Supporting adulthood transitions requires interdisciplinary collaboration across medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, social welfare, and law. My sincere learned from Professor Morichi in this Taiwan–Japan interdisciplinary research project.
